Water, steel, heater, spot light, 40”x 12”x 12”

Gallery 400 (Chicago, IL)

Once every forty-five seconds, a drop of water falls onto a heated sheet of iron and instantly evaporates. With each cycle, a singular and fleeting form briefly comes into being. As the droplet gathers before its release, it refracts light, casting a shifting line across the gallery walls—a luminous trace generated by the growing body of water just moments before it disappears.
