Multitud (Crowd) is an installation designed as a dark and empty space where people are allowed to walk freely with no specific direction or purpose. Equiped with headphones, visitors have a receptor that allowing them to alternate between 4 separate channels at any time: a soliloquy, dialogs between the members of a family, political speeches, and the amplified sound of the visitors footsteps on the exhibition's floor. The installation addresses issues of individuality, identity, social dialog and isolation in the context of an anonymous crowd that comes together and dissipates after the exhibition.
Crowd is a site-specific project developed at C.H.E.L.A (Centro Hipermediático Experimental Latinoamericano) in collaboration with Juan Pablo Ferlat and Gabriel Rud.
